05.06.2014 | Valencia, California, USA – Girlfriends Films’ Asst. Web Master and Warehouse Director, Rhino, has selected Movember as the June charity. The Movember Foundation will receive a check for $1,000 from Girlfriends Films, on behalf of Rhnio, to raise awareness and funds for men’s health.

Movember is held each year during the month of November. During the month, men around the world grow out their facial hair in order to raise money within the community to battle prostate and testicular cancer. “I’ve grown out my beard the past two years as part of Movember,” says Rhino. “I’m a huge supporter of all cancer charities, but Movember holds a special place with me. Many men are unwilling to talk about the real dangers of prostate and testicular cancer, but Movember has given us a fun way to get educated on the matter.”logo

Each month, Girlfriends Films turns to its employees, performers, directors, and adult industry principals to select a charity to support. In 2013, the Girlfriends Films Charity Program donated over $20,000 to a wide array of philanthropic organizations, from medical institutes to animal sanctuaries.

“Being able to donate to charity on behalf of our employees is really special to all of us at Girlfriends Films,” states Girlfriends Films President Moose. “Each employee or performer picks an organization they hold dear – something directly affecting them, or something they are involved with, like Rhino with Movember. We are honored to present the foundation with one-thousand dollars in Rhino’s name.”

VALENCIA, Calif. – Fan-favorite performer Chastity Lynn chooses Farm Sanctuary as the Girlfriends Films Charity of the Month. As a result, Farm Sanctuary will receive a $1,000 donation on behalf of Chastity to help with its mission to protect farm animals from cruelty, inspire change in the way society views and treats farm animals, and promote compassionate vegan living.

For more information about Farm Sanctuary, visit www.FarmSanctuary.org. To join Chastity Lynn and Girlfriends Films in supporting the organization, click here.

“I’m choosing to donate to Farm Sanctuary, an advocacy group currently doing the most to improve factory farms,” says Chastity Lynn. “I believe reforming the conditions of our factory farms is extremely important because of the hazards they pose to the environment, our health, and animal welfare.”

One of Farm Sanctuary’s Animal Acres is located in Acton in Southern California, close to Chastity Lynn and the Girlfriends Films headquarters. The 26-acre shelter is home to more than 100 animals and offers tours to visitors.

In addition to animal rescue, Farm Sanctuary also works to educate about the harms of factory farming to the animals, people, and the land. The organization teaches about everything from more responsible forms of raising farm animals to vegan diets.

“Chastity is a sweet and compassionate person, so it makes sense she would use May’s donation to help Farm Sanctuary’s mission,” states Girlfriends Films Vice President Moose. “We are happy to present a check to Farm Sanctuary on behalf of Chastity Lynn.”

Recent Girlfriends Films movies starring Chastity Lynn include “Sisters,” “Cheer Squad Sleepovers: Episode 5,” and the acclaimed boy/girl sex feature film from B. Skow, “Paint.”

Girlfriends Films has a long history of charitable contributions, having donated over $20,000 in 2012. Each month a performer, director, or industry principal is selected as part of the studio’s charity program, and a donation of $1000 is given to a philanthropic organization of their choice. Girlfriends Films and Syren De Mer support Special Olympics with a $1000 donation.  Appearing in 17 movies for Girlfriends Films, Syren De Mer is one of the studio’s most filmed performers the past year.  De Mer’s selection for the Girlfriends Films’ October charity honors her daughter, an athlete in Special Olympics for 6 years.

Girlfriends Films calls on its strong community of fans and followers to join Syren De Mer in supporting Special Olympics.  Donations of all sizes may be made directly to the organization at http://tinyurl.com/SpecialOlympicDonation.

“The reason I chose Special Olympics is because our oldest daughter has been a participant in it for the last 6 years,” says Syren De Mer.  “When she was born she suffered a major stroke, and now lives with a number of disabilities along with epilepsy.  Special Olympics gave her a way to help cope with these.”

“Special Olympics helps her self esteem,” continues De Mer.  “It’s an outlet for her energy she wouldn’t normally have.  She’s made many friends, and it helps with her social and physical skills, driving her to excel at what she does.  She really strives to win the medals because, and I quote, ‘I want to win the medals not the ribbons; they’re not as pretty.’  Watching her and the other athletes stand on the podiums to receive their recognitions is one of the most heartwarming experiences you’ll ever have.  You see their personalities manifest themselves in very emotional and sometimes humorous ways you don’t normally see in athletes who are not disabled.  They are not afraid to show exactly how they feel, with no inhibitions or care of what others think.”

According to SpecialOlympics.org, the mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.

De Mer adds, “The teachers, trainers, coaches, and volunteers have been amazing in dealing with her and all the other athletes.  Their patience, enthusiasm, understanding, and encouragement of these very special athletes is par none.  If there are true heroes in America today these people are some of the greatest.  They congratulate each and every athlete the same, regardless where they place, and make them all feel ‘special’.”

“Special Olympics is for more than only the athletes,” says De Mer.  “It’s also for the parents, family, and friends of the athletes.  It gives everyone a way to come together, meet others living with special athletes, and learn from each other.  It’s an opportunity to make new friends, find support, and to get involved in something that is extremely positive for everyone involved.”

“I really want to thank Special Olympics for everything they’ve done to help my daughter and family, as well as thank Girlfriends Films for giving me the opportunity to thank them in such a wonderful way,” states De Mer.

Girlfriends Films movies starring Syren De Mer include “Road Queen: Part 22,” “Poor Little Shyla: Volume 2,” “Please Make Me Lesbian: Part 5,” and “Lesbian Sex: Volume 9.”

Girlfriends Films has a long history of charitable contributions, having donated over $20,000 in 2011.  Last year the company recently restructured its charity program from an annual end-of-year donation to an ongoing, monthly program.  AVN Media founder Paul Fishbein kicked off the 2012 giving with a donation to Best Friend Animal Society, followed by Tanya Tate’s gift to the National Breast Cancer Coalition, XBIZ Managing Editor Dan Miller’s donation to the American Red Cross, AVN Senior Editor Mark Kernes’ donation to the Guttmacher Institute, RayVeness’ selection of Treasures, and more.

Any Girlfriends Films performers interested in participating may apply by emailing the following information to PR@GirlfriendsFilms.com: name, AIP charity of choice, reason(s) for selecting the charity.  Chosen performers will be asked to submit a personal photo depicting the performer engaged with the charity, the charity’s mission, or a similar charitable act.  The photo will be used for promotional purposes.

About Special Olympics:
The concept for Special Olympics began in the early 1960s, when Eunice Kennedy Shriver saw how unjustly and unfairly people with intellectual disabilities were treated.  She also saw that many children with special needs didn’t even have a place to play.  She decided to take action.  Soon, her vision began to take shape, as she held a summer day camp for young people with intellectual disabilities in her own backyard.  The goal was to learn what these children could do in sports and other activities – and not dwell on what they could not do.  This vision eventually grew into the global Special Olympics movement. Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.  It gives people continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.  For more information, visit www.specialolympics.org.
