Porn Stars to Cycle 100 miles for HIV Awareness

25.07.2018 | London, UK – Porn Pedallers, the adult industry cycling club, will be taking on the epic Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100 on Sunday 29th July 2018 to raise money and awareness for the UK’s leading HIV & sexual health charity, Terrence Higgins Trust.

“Sexual health is so central to our day-to-day working lives in the adult industry that is was a no brainer to partner with a sex-positive charity like Terrence Higgins Trust,” said Porn Pedallers’ founder Chris Ratcliff. “As performers, producers and distributors, we have a duty to promote a responsible and informed approach to sexual health. This extends to fighting the stigma and ignorance associated with HIV and supporting THT in spreading the word that people on effective HIV treatment can’t pass it on.”

“As you know, I love cycling and I’m so pleased to be riding for such an amazing charity as Terrence Higgins Trust,” says porn star Rebecca More on Twitter. “Sexual health is important and relevant to everyone, not just in porn. And I’d really love it if you’d give as little or as much as you like. Just a small contribution. Everything helps.”

Porn Pedallers’ 18-strong team includes SHAFTA award-winning performers – Rebecca More, Tindra Frost and Pascal White – Television X boss, Chris Ratcliff, Mystim Biz Dev Manager, Leigh Dedhar, and a committed bunch of cycling enthusiasts working in and around the UK adult sector. So far this year, they’ve ridden to Brighton, across Flanders and up the French Alps, in addition to countless training miles. Most recently, on a recce of Stage 11 of the Tour de France, they crossed paths with the pro peloton, picking up the odd training tip and few selfies with Geraint Thomas, Luke Rowe and Team Sky supremo Sir Dave Brailsford.

The world has come a long way in the fight against HIV, but it’s not over. Donations are crucial to continue testing and support services for the newly diagnosed. Terrence Higgins Trust aims to end the transmission of HIV in the UK, to empower people living with HIV to lead healthy lives and to encourage everyone to enjoy good sexual health.
