EDC Wholesale: CORONAVIRUS / COVID 19 UPDATE

EDC

16.03.2020 | Veendam, the Netherlands – “We would like to update you about the latest developments at EDC with regards to the Coronavirus / COVID 19. We are strictly following the advice from the Dutch government to take safety precautions and minimize any risk to infect others. To do so, we have asked our office staff to work from home. Our system allows everyone to work remotely and continue their work from any location. Our Sales team and Customer service are still available to answer any of your questions by email or phone. We are taking this situation extremely seriously and we expect that we will continue to work from home for the next period to come. We can’t predict how long this will last, but we will follow this strategy for as long as necessary. To continue our business and yours, we do everything within our power to keep our logistics running and send out orders as you are used from us. Therefore we are dividing all logistic personnel into smaller teams, working in 3 separate shifts per day, to minimize the risk of spreading the virus. The continuity of our logistics is our main priority, therefore we will not receive any visitors in the o_ce and we will not be visiting any customers or events with the safety of everyone in mind. We are available to connect with you by phone or video chat via Google hangout, Whatsapp video, Facetime, Skype, etc. If you would like to speak to any of us, please let us know. We will make it work.

‘Together we can overcome this’

We expect that these measures will continue for quite some time and that they will be even stricter than they are now. This asks for a different approach to running our business. We have increased our supplies and started doing so about six weeks ago and we will continue to anticipate as good and as much as we can. We can’t predict future changes and we ask for your understanding that some things are out of our control.

Production process

The production process for our house brands produced in China is up and running again, however not in its full capacity. We are positive though that we will be back on track in a matter of time and we expect our first container to arrive in Holland around mid-April. Please consider your current supply policy as well. We see a huge trend in lubricants, hygienic products, and condoms and advise you to anticipate this increased demand. Let’s work together and share thoughts on how to overcome this period. How are you dealing with this situation and the health of you and others around you? If you have any tips or suggestions, please let us know. Please be safe and consider your health and those of others. Good luck in these times and the hard times to come.

Best wishes,
Eric Idema – CEO”
