Girlfriends Films expands team
18.03.2014 | Valencia, California, USA — Girlfriends Films announces the addition of renowned adult industry sales veteran David Diamond to its team. As Distribution Sales Executive, Diamond steps into a new position created to help facilitate the company’s expansion. In the coming months, Girlfriends Films’ distribution department will take on worldwide DVD sales for several well-known, high-end brands, as well as the acclaimed studios currently represented.
“I’m excited about this new opportunity at Girlfriends Films and would like to thank the staff here for welcoming me with open arms,” says David Diamond. “I look forward to being the point person for DVD needs.”
The Girlfriends Films Distribution Department currently includes movies from award-winning studios Viv Thomas, Tammy Sands Productions, Reign Productions (Tasha Reign), and Mental Beauty, Inc. (Bonnie Rotten), plus Girlfriends Films’ boy/girl line, Skow for Girlfriends Films, recipient of AVN’s 2014 award for Best New Line.
David Diamond first started in the adult industry in 1999 as a sales associate at VCA, which was at the time one of the biggest content producers. The DVD market was still new, and VCA had a total of fifty titles available in the format. After VCA was acquired by LFP Inc. (Hustler), Diamond stayed on as VCA Sales Associate until his promotion to National Sales Manager for Hustler DVD in 2005. During his tenure with Hustler DVD (2005 – 2012), Diamond had the privilege of selling some of the highest grossing adult titles ever produced, such as “Tera Patrick Interactive,” “Not the Bradys,” “Who’s Nailing Paylin,” and “This Ain’t Avatar XXX 3-D.”

Over the past few years, Girlfriends Films has grown by leaps and bounds under the leadership of Dan O’Connell and Moose. The company went from producing award-winning lesbian content, to also distributing movies for other studios, developing a successful membership site, and launching a broadcast channel on HUSTLER® TV. The moves contributed to Moose’s receipt of the 2011 XBIZ Executive Leadership award, O’Connell being named the 2012 XBIZ Man of the Year, and the studio receiving AVN’s 2013 Best Company Image award.
