Eldorado helps to fight hunger

26.11.2015 | Broomfield, Colorado, USA – In the spirit of giving, Colorado-based distributor, Eldorado Trading Company, has once again raised money from their annual food drive for the Community Food Share, which provides food to hundreds of Colorado families in need.

Eldorado raised over $2900 and close to 100lbs for the Community Food Share, which serves Boulder and Broomfield counties. This resulted in more than 9000 meals for hungry and food insecure Coloradoans. Unfortunately 1 in 6 people in Boulder and Broomfield counties is hungry. This includes 56,000 people who are food insecure, of which 15,000 are children. Eldorado started their fundraising at the beginning of October. A food share committee was created, which came up with many creative ideas to raise money. Some of the events included, football pools, a wing-eating contest, a pie in the face contest, vibrator races, a Halloween contest, and a book sale.

“To truly be successful in life and in business you must give back. After all, your community supports you. Whether it is through your staff, your vendors, your customers or just where you are physically located, you cannot be successful alone. That is why as a company we’ve chosen Community Food Share of Broomfield and Boulder Counties as our main charity,” says Larry Garland, Eldorado CEO. Community Food Share, serving Boulder and Broomfield counties, has been providing food to the community since 1981. In 2014 the Community Food Share provided 8.3 million meals to people in need.
